Nicole Valdez is a Dominican lawyer that focuses her practice on international arbitration.

 

Prior to joining Adell & Merizalde, Nicole worked as a paralegal at a Dominican-Spanish law firm with a large presence in Latin America. There, she gained experience in litigation, corporate law, and regulatory compliance. She was also a paralegal in the intellectual property department of a highly recognized Dominican law firm.

 

Nicole holds a Law Degree from Universidad Iberoamericana (UNIBE), Summa Cum Laude, where she also served as an Assistant Director of the Law Student Public Relations Committee.  She completed an academic exchange program at Universidad Jaume I in Castellón De La Plana, Spain.

  • Part of a team that represents a European intergovernmental organization in an ICC arbitration based in Munich, Germany, regarding alleged delays and cost overruns in the construction of a highly complex scientific project in a South American country.  Over US$30 million in dispute.  The language of the arbitration is English.

  • Tribunal assistant in a commercial arbitration between a Portuguese company and a Central American country related to a construction project.  The language of the arbitration is Spanish.
